wooo it's my birthday! i have very little to say.

fuck cowards, praise heroes.

i knew i had to do something this year...and i have luckily put myself to the point where i have no idea what my 5 year plan is. i've got a lot of plans, along with the intelligence and execution to follow through with them. i've seen SOOO many motherfuckers waste their time with the potential... but no real plans in their life to make it happen. you really have to start taking advantage of life if you want to be the best.

time to step up, i'm not going home now, and my training comes to me tomorrow (of course!), recheck in 6 months or a year for status updates.

p.s. did i ever mention i was born on my due date? fun fact!

so i got a chance to listen to a preview track from my good friend loren's new album he's putting out. loren recently moved from new orleans to LA and is one of the most naturally talented musicians you'll ever hear.

this unmastered demo was more beautiful, more honest, more real than any other song i've heard in years. it felt as if neutral milk hotel's importance in arrangements, and nina simone's stronger voice had a child with a penchant for romanticism.

it's suddenly becoming odd to type without proper capitalization

it's thursday, and i just started my week break from work. this means that i have time on my hands, and the fuel to type a livejournal entry.

i'm adjusting very well to living in metro detroit. i do miss my old life, but ypsilanti is where i was, and detroit is a step to where i'm going. arizona in february is looking more like a reality by the day, but since nothing is official i will not take my stock in life from anything more than what i currently have. however if this does happen, i will be both a talent specialist and my company's contract photographer for the office. this is fantastic to inexplicable degrees.

the civic turned both 210,000 miles this week, and ended up in the shop to replace a cv joint. i've driven her for 90,000 miles, either aggressively delivering pizzas or driving long distances to get myself to new opportunities in life, whether professionally , educationally, or socially. besides the joints and a new clutch, she has carried me every foot i've needed to take to make it in life over the last 4 years, and if she keeps running for the next few months she'll be retired with honors. she's not as strong anymore, but she's as steady as a dream.
hey josh, want to eventually buy her for the parts? (remember hyperlinking to journals? FUCK THAT.) i almost feel bad for saving up for the down payment on a prius instead of a civic hybrid, but being a fan of weeds cemented the deal.

...and finally. while i was applying for jobs after getting laid off, i came across a job listing to be a nightlife photographer. it was for a company called Image Chicago, that was expanding worldwide and looking for people to go to clubs and shoot people having fun, handing them a business card & uploading the images to their site to garner site traffic. i figured since they seemed to have decent contacts, and detroit would be such a close, easy market to conquer that with my portfolio and work experience i would be in. i eventually got a form email about employment from their Director of Photography's gmail (who has a impressive nightlife portfolio) that i sent back and never heard from. i sent them this note tonight through their site with my request to delete the profile they requested i set up, and i'm quite proud of it. so i'm sharing it with you. whatever.

I responded to an email sent by Oliver requesting questions regarding full employment, including my Social Security # (which i denied disclosing until official hiring). I have heard nothing back, including any response to my follow up email sent two weeks ago. It has been a period of almost two months, and I am no longer interested and dealing with your company.
